Proof That God Wants You To Prosper!

The Bible is full of proof that it is God's will for us to prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)  However, before we can enjoy a life of prosperity and overflow, we have to do a few things ourselves.

First, we have to learn about God's character. If someone you barely knew offered to buy you a house, you would probably say "What's the catch?" The reason you would not believe the person is because you didn't have confidence in his character and didn't trust that he would do what he promised. You didn't know him enough to believe what he said. The same happens with God.

All of the promises in the Bible are received by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8) However, before you can stand in unwavering faith, you have to trust the person who offered the promises. The way you develop that trust in God is to get to know him personally. You do this by spending time in the Word where He has revealed Himself. You also get to know Him by spending time talking with Him and listening to Him.  (Continued below.)

Get to know God as your Father, Savior, and Redeemer. Think about what that means. He has saved you from death and redeemed you from the curse of the law. (Galations 3:13)  Once you  have faith in that, get to know Him as your Healer, Deliverer and Provider. As you begin to step out in faith on these promises that you have complete confidence in, God will respond to your faith and you will see things begin to happen in your life.

Our Jobs Are Not Our Source

God's Kingdom is based on seedtime and harvest. Whatever you sow is what you will reap. You can't plant apple seeds in the spring and expect to see corn in July. It doesn't work that way. We see this in 2 Corinthians 9:6-11. Here we learn that God takes pleasure in a joyful giver and in return He makes all grace abound to us in abundance so that we always have enough to meet our needs and those around us. In verse 10 we learn that God even gives us the seed we need to start the process. That is what our jobs are. They are just one avenue in which God gives us seed. We aren't supposed to live off the income from our jobs. We are supposed to live off the residual blessings that occur from a lifestyle of giving. God is our source and the One who will provide for us. (Philippians 4:19) We simply use the money we get from our jobs, sow it where God leads us, and then we will see it return to us in abundance. Remember, you can never outgive God!
